Body Composition Analysis Hitchin

Understand Your Body With
Medical-Grade Analysis

Scales lie. Our medical-grade body composition analyser measures body fat, muscle mass and visceral fat, so you can see exactly what's changing and train with real data.

Bodyweight alone tells you almost nothing. You can lose fat and gain muscle while the scales stay still — or lose weight while losing hard-earned muscle. Body composition analysis separates the two, showing your body fat percentage, segmental muscle mass, visceral fat level and hydration in a single short scan.

At Square One we use medical-grade bioelectrical impedance equipment — the same class of technology used in clinical and professional sport settings. The scan is quick, non-invasive and repeatable, making it ideal for tracking genuine progress over weeks and months. It is a fitness measurement tool: it does not diagnose or treat any medical condition, and it isn't a substitute for medical advice.

Every scan comes with a coach-led walkthrough of your results. We'll explain what the numbers mean, set realistic targets and — if you want — build the training and nutrition plan to move them. Regular re-scans then prove your plan is working, or tell us what to adjust.

Common Questions

Is the scan safe?

Yes. Bioelectrical impedance analysis is non-invasive and painless. As a precaution, it isn't suitable for people with implanted electrical devices such as pacemakers, and we'd always recommend anyone with a medical condition speaks to their GP first.

What does 'medical-grade' mean?

It refers to the class of equipment — professional multi-frequency analysers of the type used in clinical and sports science settings, which are more accurate than consumer bathroom scales. The scan is a fitness measurement, not a medical diagnosis.

How often should I re-scan?

Every 4–6 weeks is ideal. That's long enough for real change in fat and muscle to show, and frequent enough to adjust your plan quickly.

How should I prepare for a scan?

For consistent results, scan at a similar time of day, normally hydrated, and avoid training or large meals immediately beforehand.
